For this painting I tried to create a dark moody atmosphere with the red clouds, folding in on themselves as they drift along.  I love painting clouds, as they can be free to be what they want to be.
One night, I was about to finish painting, I had a little bit of yellow paint left over, so I used my fingers and smudged around the edge of the two red cloud formations.  The next morning, I walked into my studio and looking back at me were two heads talking to each other.
I love things like this, that just appear in paintings, like the big twisting head on the left side of this painting, for a long time that side of the painting bothered me, but again one day he just popped up as if he had always been there.
